I love watching kids getting their seats on rides at the Ex. The excitement makes me smile.
An intersection as viewed from Powder Tower in Prague.
Went to $5 Tuesday at the Toronto Exhibition. It was loud.
I'm a sucker for the way light reflects off of damp ferns.
A golfer at the For the Love of Sydney tournament waits for his turn.
A few hours after I took this photo, 6 tornados hit Southern Ontario, causing a few deaths and a lot of damage.
Tornados freak me out. I won't lie.
(Cross-processed with Urban Acid, for a little of the creepy factor.)
Do you like what you see?
It was at least 10°C cooler by the water, so it was a busy place.
A farm near the office let a field go fallow and this sunflower decided to grow right in the middle of the weeds.
Even at 7 am, it's hard to get a shot of the Charles Bridge without someone in it. I consider myself lucky that it was only one person instead of the horde that is there by even 9 am!
I tried, repeatedly, to get a good shot of the National Theatre in Prague. It took renting a paddle boat and shooting from the Vltava to get one I was happy with.
More of the door from St Martin's Rotunda at Vyšehrad
Odd weather last night, as storms, humidity, and powerlines rolled in, climbed, and fell. In the time it took to bracket the shot following this one, the fog had pushed past the trees and started creeping along the field.
Some sumac, trying to beat the heat.
Went down to Hamilton Harbour today, in humidity that was blanket-heavy, and watched the seagulls play.
Taken from Karolvy most, early morning. This is on the opposite side of the bridge from Offshoot.
I don't intend to post multiples of photos on a regular basis, but after sitting here indecisive for almost ten minutes, clicking back and forth between the version layers in Photoshop, I just decided to share both.
Teasel was used for carding wool. Though I've seen references to teasel on gardening blogs, it's certainly considered a weed in these parts.
A little offshoot of the Vltava, taken from the Čertovka end of Karlovy most. Partner-in-crime believes this is an artificial channel dug to power mills a few hundred years ago.
Chased the light, and in the time it took to pull over and set up the tripod, everything changed.
A quick shot from the St. Jacobs Farmer's Market. I'd managed to forget how packed the place is - both with people and food - and it was only 10 am on Tuesday.
It's nice to see the Ontario produce back in full swing. I missed that - especially the super-fresh corn!
I took this photo in Staroměstské náměstí, looking left as I stood in front of Prague Orloj on one of our first early morning jaunts into Prague, at around 6am. It's a good thing the camera can focus that early in the morning, because I certainly cannot!
HDR, from three shots, left slightly surreal, because the colours are vibrant in person.
I returned to Canada on Friday, and am finally out and about again with the camera.
Things I forgot while out of Canada:
Part of one of four "bells" in the four corners of the Kutná Hora Ossuary.
