progress, in varying sizes, by Opal Gamble

The great home reno of 2009 is now in overtime, but the good news is that the end is close and the house will soon be for sale. This is one of my favourite corners, with nice light, my 1950s teak chair (Danish Modern FTW!), and a print that finally gets the wall space it deserves.

Victory

With lots of help from a friend, we finished painting the banister between the first and second floor of the house. This was the second-last major job on the house to-do list.

Putzi and I decided to admire it for a few minutes before moving on to finishing something else.

Bastet, by Opal Gamble

The unglamorous reality, by Opal Gamble

I know people think, being a web developer, that I live the rock-and-roll, coffee, booze and 3am coding-spree lifestyle.

Unfortunately, my life right now involves paint. Lots and lots of... paint. This house has consumed nearly 8L of trim paint - I had to go buy yet another 4L of bright white because the original job I bought it for is still not done... 2 full cans of paint later!
